RRSP Season

By the time you read this, we’ll have about three weeks left to get your RRSP Contributions in for the 2015 Tax Year. The final cut off is February 29th due to the Leap Year. The maximum amount this year will be $25,370. I’ll be busy seeing clients throughout February and really won’t stop until March. Please contact me right away if you’d like to get a Contribution in.

Happy New Year!

We hope that everyone had a nice time over the Christmas Holidays and a good finish to 2015. The girls and I enjoyed some down time over the last week of December and Natalie and I got some things done around the house. It was a fairly quiet Christmas but a very nice one.

Season's Greetings!

On behalf of Natalie, Vienna, Berlin, London & myself, we wish you all the best over the upcoming holiday season. We will be staying in Calgary this year and will be out of the office from December 22nd to January 3rd.

Our Annual Portfolio Strategies Christmas Party will take place at the Calgary Tower on December 18th which we're really looking forward to. After that, it should be a busy Christmas at the Borden household with three excited little girls!

Please let me know if there is anything that we can do for you before the break and have a Happy New Year!

A Lot of Changes

We’re coming off a significant election in October and we’ll likely see a number of changes in regards to Tax Laws, Child Care Benefits and Tax Free Savings Account Limits. At the time I write this, there are still some things that we don’t know but what we do know, is that changes are coming. Some will be positively affected by the new policies and others, not so much. I’m hoping that by the end of the year, we’ll have some more clarity on a number of things.

At Home, In Calgary

Well, we had an extremely busy September! I was honoured to be a groomsman for two of my best friends this year and I had a great birthday. Being away from Calgary for three weekends in a row really burnt Natalie and me out though!! We look forward to staying close to home to round out the rest of 2015.

Quite the Summer

As our clients are situated in Alberta, Saskatchewan and British Columbia, I’m sure almost all of you were affected by the wildfires this summer. Some of you were directly impacted by the fires so our hearts go out to those of you who were displaced. Overall, we had a very warm couple of months here in Calgary but we definitely experienced some smoke on a number of days.
